End of the Semester Reflection 4/20/22

 End of the Semester Reflection

It is that time of the year when teachers are just tired, physically and mentally.  But, as I think about this semester and how this class has helped me grow as an educator, I can't help but think about what I want to add and/or change for the 2022-2023 school year.

I have really enjoyed creating a weekly blog.  When I first read the assignment, I was hesitant, but once I created the blog site and wrote a few posts, I was hooked.  It was nice reflecting and sharing what I have done in my classroom, but I really enjoyed reading what my peers were also doing. You have shared so many ideas that I have tried or want to try. Our profession can not be done alone.  Collaboration is key to our success and I really felt like this blog assignment has helped us collaborate with others outside of our buildings.  I am considering continuing with my blog after the semester is over or creating a blog for my classroom.

I do know I want to introduce blogging to my students next school year.  I think it would be a great way for them to reflect on their learning.  We are making portfolios this school year but I think I blog would be a great way to supplement their portfolios and be used as artifacts for their writing portfolios.  The students, teachers, and parents would be able to see how their writing grows over time.

Thanks to reading through Edutopia, Cult of Pedagogy, and my classmates' blogs, I have many resources and ideas for my current and future students!
