Sharing Resources With Your School Community and Beyond

In this blog post, Vivian Hernandez, discusses how to share digital resources with students, their families, and colleagues.  The blog was posted last summer, to support teachers with NTI but what she shares, is still beneficial.   Hernandez, gives tips on how to use Google Sites, YouTube, Screenscastify, Edpuzzle, and Wakelet.  Sharing resources is important for school communities, especially with more digital learning taking place.   One of the common complaints families have shared with our administration was that they did not know how to support their students during NTI.  Teachers were assigning activities for students to complete at home, but sometimes students struggled because they were unfamiliar with the technology.  The parents weren't able to help as much as they wanted because they were also unfamiliar with the technology.  Having resources on how to use the sources would have been helpful.  I think this is a great blog post to share with the administration and staff so that schools can come up with different ways to support their students.

  1. I think it is so important to find ways to share resources with families. I tried my best during NTI to show caregivers how to access everything they needed and made it as straightforward as possible, but I know that there were things that could have been clearer. Our school did their best to help, but I think that if we were to enter NTI again (we don't use NTI days for weather), it is going to be key to ensure that families know how to access everything they need to help their students.
